One Room Challenge Fall 2018-Week 3
We have COLOR on the walls! The color is called Newburg Green (even though it looks blue 🤔) by Benjamin Moore and we love it! I think I have arthritis from all of the prep it took to get to this point and my hands are sooo dry and manly. I totally underestimated the amount of time it would take to get ready to paint. I was so excited to finally have our dark moody walls that I stayed up until 5am (multiple nights) painting the window trim and baseboards. SO MUCH TRIM! Thank goodness we are keeping the dark wood trim in the rest of the house because this room kicked my butt.
The crown moulding and walls still need a second coat and we have to do some touch ups and paint the closet doors, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Here is a close up of the crown moulding and the fixed and painted ceiling. We are really happy with the way the ceiling looks. My dad did an awesome job!
And another crappy picture during the day this time. The blade for our fan arrived on Friday but we are still waiting on the base. Hopefully it will get here soon to add a little bit of light to the room.
This room is looking totally different and I’m really looking forward to the fun part of furnishing and decorating. So far we have an awesome brass bed we found on Craigslist, an antique Victorian dresser from my Gram’s old house, and possibly a rug if I decide to reuse the one from our bedroom in our condo. I will share some pictures of our old condo later in the week and talk about what we think we might be able to use.
I will probably be living Target, HomeGoods, and World Market the next few weeks as I search for all of the pretty things!
